Accidental Detour

On my way to work this morning I was thinking how great it was that I was going to get there early. I  passed an Estate/Farm Sale sign and without fully realizing what I was doing, I followed the signs away from work and the next thing I knew, I was number 10 on the list.

How did that happen?? Does this happen to other people? This is what I was pondering as I was on my way back to work. Mid ponder, I pulled a quick U-turn to pick through someone's trash. Yep. I did that. I saw a bunch of furniture on the side of the road, and again, it was like someone else was suddenly controlling my car. Sigh...

I made it to work only a few minutes late and left again at 9:30 to be in line for the 10am start time (don't worry- I had overtime to kill). I dragged my friend and co-worker with me which made everything even more fun. It wasn't the best sale for me (I had high hopes for something labeled Farm Sale), but I did find the items pictured below and I got to talk to some of the regulars about what they've been up to lately. *Yes, there is a group of regulars that get up at obscene hours of the morning to write their names down on a list, or grab a number to be first in line for the sales... I've been one of those crazy 3am people before. Don't judge.*

So tell me, does this ever happen to you!? Am I the only crazy person missing out on overtime to go to a stranger's house and pick through their belongings? And for the love of Pete and all things holy- someone please tell me that they have pulled over to dig through trash!! :-)

Fresh Finds

There was a lovely estate sale in the historic district here a few weeks back.  The home was filled with beautiful antiques and art, most of which was already sold since we were unable to be there at the start of things.  But we managed to dig around in the garage and basement and come up with a few delightfully shabby pieces.  Several of these are already in use in Annie's home,  if the sun ever shines here again perhaps some photos will be taken and you can see the results-  it looks great!

Fun Friday Finds

I seem to have a weakness for chairs- the chippier the better!

Simply had to have the dollhouse! And the trunks just kept calling me until I bought them and a nice young man put them in my car.  When I got home and unloaded them I realized that the green one on the bottom weighed at least a ton.  Oh well.

Fun pile of games that weren't the same old ones I usually run into, a great little fan and a few holiday goodies topped things off.  Fun morning!
