Beyond the Garden Gate!

Here are some pictures from our weekend at Beyond the Garden Gate!. We had so much fun. It's always great to meet new people who enjoy the same things you do.

Below are some pictures from Jean's gorgeous booth. Jean was so fun to talk to and we just loved her merchandise. All three of us ended up buying from her. Jean has a booth at Farm Girl Art & Antiques. We can't wait to see all the goodies that she has stashed there!

Here are two pictures from Lisa and Viv's booth. Lisa owns Farm Girl Art & Antiques in Milwaukee. She and Viv always have the coolest antiques and furniture. I just loved these old wheels and the red, chippy watering can was so cool!

A Lovely Gift

My wonderful daughters truly made Mother's Day a special day for me by giving me something I had been wanting for quite a while-  this blog!  And while travel kept us apart on the actual day, we were able to spend time together later that week where I was surprised again with this delightful set of crocheted beads from Three Blue Bee.  They had been in my favorites on Etsy for quite some time and now they are all mine and living in one of my favorite ironstone dishes, along with a little celluloid deer.  Thanks girlies!

Flowers Galore!

While I didn't get to see the Macy's Flower Show in NYC this year like I've been able to in the past, I did get to go to the one in Chicago. I was highly impressed! Being around thousands and thousands of fresh, blooming, colourful plants made it one of the happiest days I've had in a long time.

I spent almost two hours walking around Macy's looking at the arrangements with my boyfriend. I would have stayed longer, but he got a bit bored and started looking at watches. Then I had to see every watch on display and I got a bit bored, so we decided to leave and head to the touristy, but oh-so-delicous Giordano's for stuffed pizza.

I took a zillion pictures of all the different floral diplays. Here are a few of my favorites.

Enjoy :-D

Hawthorne Hill Farm- This Weekend!!!

We've had a great time this weekend preparing all of our treasures for the upcoming Hawthorne Hill Farm show. Each year, artist, Bonnie Lynn hosts five events. The first is this weekend and it is called Beyond the Garden Gate!. This is a wonderful event as it combines vintage and antique sellers, handmade items, local artists, a farmer's market, and more.

Last year we participated in the Decorate! event and had an absolute blast! We got to meet so many talented and creative vendors and managed to find some great items to take home. Below are some pictures from previous shows. We can't wait to show you pictures from this year!

Beyond the Garden Gate! runs from Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22 10am-5pm. Admission is FREE!!! Check out Bonnie's Facebook page for more details.

Hope to see you there.

Pancake Fun

The other day we had a lovely pancake and bacon brunch (yum!). When I put some of the batter on the griddle, a few of the blobs melded together and when I flipped it.... a sea turtle appeared!!!

Hope your day starts as great as this one did!

Happy Mother's Day!

For over a year now, our Mom, Kathi, has been asking us to help her start a blog. To be honest, we were less than enthusiastic... at first. Part of it was due to the fact that we all lived in different areas of the US and had no idea where to start. Allie and I happened to be together yesterday and decided to get this up and running for Mother's Day (we do have a few other gifts for her, don't worry!).

Mom, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us. We are excited to start this blog with you!

Pictured is one of our favorite photos that our mom sent to us. It includes a tiny dish that we got her from Fish's Eddy in NY and a cheery bunch of flowers from her garden. It makes us smile and we thought we'd share it with you.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
