It's Almost Spring...

and while I miss my roses

and my zinnias

this is what I miss the most- the patio. Where my outdoor workbench lives.  And there is a hose to wash all of our finds. And often lots of sunshine and fresh air which almost always improves vintage items.

So when we came home with this from an old garage on Thursday

and this from some really filthy sheds on Saturday

and all of these goodies on Friday...
(and this is just the tiniest bit of what we brought home, more pics here)

I missed spring and summer even more.

I suggested we put a large walk in shower in our basement but since our house is pretty small and our basement is very full,  I don't think that is at the top of our project list.  A girl can dream can't she!

Wishful Thinking

begonias, impatiens and zinnias- oh my!

Just a quick splash of spring color and thoughts of planting from WI where a fresh 8" of snow fell today.

Yummy Oatmeal Cookies

These oatmeal cookies are always a hit.  I usually take them along for a snack when we are vending  because they are very filling and we kid ourselves that it isn't so bad because they have some healthy ingredients.  I often make them at the same time as I make our favorite granola since I am using many of the same ingredients.  Always happy to get two things done with only one mess : D

Oatmeal Cookies

Beat together the following-
1 C butter
3/4 C sugar
1/4 C brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg
1/4 C water

Add-
1 C whole wheat flour - white works too
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
4 C organic oatmeal
1 C chopped nuts - we use pecans or almonds
1 C raisins, craisins or chocolate chips - our favorite combo is craisins and white chocolate chips

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.  Cool on rack.
