The Air is Crisp- Time to Get Crafty!

I know what you're thinking- "Annie you are crazy!!! The holidays are months away!!!" Well, this year I will not be last minute shopping... or so I hope. 'Tis the season to purchase supplies- things to get crafty with so that I can create one of a kind gifts for my family and friends. If I buy the things I need now, then maybe I'll actually finish the gifts in time for Christmas! :)

Here are some supplies that you can find in our shops. Happy creating!

Junk Bonanza Day 2

So I am quite exhausted by now and just going to post a ton of pictures of other vendors' booths. If anyone knows company names to match booth pictures just let me know so that I can give them credit on here : ) Cheers -Allie

If you don't believe me, here are a few snapshots of different booths and items that are for sale.

Junk Bonanza Set Up

We're here! Yesterday morning we got up bright and early to put together a game plan. There are just three of us to unload two vans full of vintage furniture and goodies, and Allie is pretty puny... so really there are two of us. (love you Allie!)  :)

When we got to Canterbury Park there was a line of cars, trailers, and U-Hauls waiting to unload. It took us over 12 hours to unpack and rearrange our booth. It was worth every bit of blood, sweat, and tears (okay, just sweat). Here are a few pictures from set up. We'll be posting lots more later.
Hope to see you there!

Yes, He Is Just As Cute In Person

I'm talking about Nate Berkus y'all. I went to see a taping of his show last January. As if my crush on him wasn't large enough before that! Andrew came along with me and even he admitted that Nate was quite the handsome man : ) The episode that day was Home Takeover With Tabatha Coffey. I knew nothing about Tabatha but found her to be such a real, honest person with a super fun sense of humor. She gave great advice on running your own business. In the link I just posted you can see other segments from the show including a little guy with a big heart who is on a mission to save our oceans, a couple's lovely vintage decorated Texas home, and how to organize a home office. That last one was most interesting to me because it talked all about having a business from your own home and trying to keep a nice space for yourself to work from every day. I really related to this and it made me want to put together a calm, happy, well-decorated office area for myself instead of wandering around with my laptop using various areas of my apartment to work from. It doesn't keep me very focused and I'm not always comfortable. Someday I will have an entire space of my own to work in :-D I just keep saying that to myself. Check out this video to learn a bit from Tabatha and Nate. It was truly the most fun morning (beside waiting in line outside in NYC's bitter cold weather- eek. Shouldn't I be used to it by now?). We laughed at the wonderful woman who warmed up the audience, learned the best life lessons and design tips from the one & only Nate, and enjoyed amaaaazing wine & cheese afterward at Ardesia! I took a few pictures of the set that are shown below. It was a bit difficult to catch great shots because you of course can't take pictures during the show so when they weren't actually taping people were usually walking around. Enjoy!  -Allie

The Vans Are Packed !

A few weeks ago we gathered the bones of our Junk Bonanza booth.  Our poor garage has been a mess ever since.

Today we started to load our trusty old van.  Thank heaven for Dave, the very best packer in the whole world!

This is about an hour into the first vehicle.  Dave kept referring to this process as a big puzzle.  I think those were kind words for this process!

A bit of hope that we may actually park a car in this space soon.

Starting on car number two, I think this was rearranged several times after this picture.

Our hero!  I attribute his extreme patience with this project to the week he just spent fishing in Canada.

Now we will add a car top carrier to each one and head off  to Junk Bonanza.  Shakopee or bust !

Featured Blogger- Jess, from Scarlet Begonia Vintage!

We recently discovered a new blog that we love so much, we had to share!

Scarlet Begonia Vintage gives you insight to fall decorating trends, shows you where to purchase items to make your house feel like home, and features lots unique items from Etsy. One of the things we love most about this blog are the beautiful pictures she includes. Perhaps even better than that is how easy it is to purchase the items pictured. Jess includes links to various stores and shops that go directly to the pictured item. She even includes the prices on her blog!

Jess also has an Etsy Shop full of vintage goodies that she updates weekly. It's definitely worth looking at! Her vintage items are gorgeous and very reasonably priced.

Vintage Industrial Lamp- $50
An Instant Collection of Automotive Tins- $14
Industrial Storage Box- $24

Thank you Jess for inspiring us to get decorating in our own homes!
