Accidental Detour

On my way to work this morning I was thinking how great it was that I was going to get there early. I  passed an Estate/Farm Sale sign and without fully realizing what I was doing, I followed the signs away from work and the next thing I knew, I was number 10 on the list.

How did that happen?? Does this happen to other people? This is what I was pondering as I was on my way back to work. Mid ponder, I pulled a quick U-turn to pick through someone's trash. Yep. I did that. I saw a bunch of furniture on the side of the road, and again, it was like someone else was suddenly controlling my car. Sigh...

I made it to work only a few minutes late and left again at 9:30 to be in line for the 10am start time (don't worry- I had overtime to kill). I dragged my friend and co-worker with me which made everything even more fun. It wasn't the best sale for me (I had high hopes for something labeled Farm Sale), but I did find the items pictured below and I got to talk to some of the regulars about what they've been up to lately. *Yes, there is a group of regulars that get up at obscene hours of the morning to write their names down on a list, or grab a number to be first in line for the sales... I've been one of those crazy 3am people before. Don't judge.*

So tell me, does this ever happen to you!? Am I the only crazy person missing out on overtime to go to a stranger's house and pick through their belongings? And for the love of Pete and all things holy- someone please tell me that they have pulled over to dig through trash!! :-)

  1. Oh my goodness, I must have raised you right! I think it's just in your genes - you have the bug or you don't. I got the bug going to rummage sales with my mom and dad and I think it got passed down to you. Enjoy!
